Karra Osler

I find the history behind the materials I use in my work as a point of strength and pride. Historically, they are associated with being used by women in the household, such as yarn and fabrics, but I combine them with contrasting, more “masculine” found materials and mediums. This contrast to me represents the two energies coexisting, yet clashing inside of me. Through the lense of these energies, my work comments on the strange and extraordinary memories of being a child, coming into womanhood, and the endless pull between growth and destruction.
