The Common Room is a gallery & workshop space created by owner Chelsey Everest Eiel in August 2017. The gallery features fine art and functional wares by local womxn and nonbinary artists, open six days a week for regular hours as well as for special events. The meditation studio, located below the gallery and opened in September 2018, offers both community members and local practitioners an intimate environment in which to practice mindfulness and intentional art-making.
The Common Room seeks to provide safe, inclusive, accessible space to those who are actively othered, marginalized, or silenced in more traditional spaces, and is open to anyone seeking alternative public space for self-expression. We collaborate with individuals and organizations to promote awareness for social justice issues by offering a platform for womxn-identified and nonbinary folks to raise their voices.
Interested in showing your work, attending a workshop, or planning an event at The Common Room? We'd love to have you.
